Easing in to 2022
Happy 2022! Wowowow, what a year it’s already been 🙃
Even though we’re now back to canceling plans, investing in N95s, and doing our best to dodge the dreaded virus, the past few months have had some real sweet spots.
First off, we snuck in two road trips up the coast (one with kids and one without!). I can’t think of anything better than waking up by the ocean.
We followed that up with a relaxing winter break at home where I was able to tap into unsubscribe mode and reorganize / purge so many rooms, including the kitchen cabinets!
We now have a whole shelf dedicated to making coffee and I love it.
After the holidays, my mom and I ventured out to LA to visit the new Academy Museum and had the best day. Highly recommend, even if you’re not a film buff. The exhibits are immersive and so fascinating.
There were also hilarious text threads with friends, endless hours of podcast listening (currently into The Deep Dive and This is Important), lots of rain, long walks, upgrading our cooking game with a new toaster oven / air fryer combo, bingeing season two of Cheer, and getting back into the habit of reading daily.
And! I found my new favorite candle company. I picked up a few different scents at Slabtown Mercantile in Cambria and will definitely be ordering more again soon!
As for this year, I’m really hoping to infuse my life with a little more CULTURE. I dream of dinner parties, museums, live podcast recordings, concerts, spontaneous adventures, and more time with the people I love. But if we have to hunker down again, that’s okay too. Let’s make the most of whatever the year brings. Cheers!
