DIY Scalloped Bulletin Board for Briar’s Desk
Thrifting will always be my #1 but estate sales have recently become my JAM. At a recent sale, I snagged this basic bulletin board for a few bucks knowing it would be perfect for Briar’s desk. I also knew I could upgrade it a bit using inspiration from this colorful office space via The House That Lars Built.
Using two shades of purple acrylic paint, I freehanded the scalloped border and then Briar helped me fill in the design with the darker purple.
Once it was dry, I attached it to the back of Briar’s desk using a few command strips and pinned up a few photos before letting her run wild with the thumbtacks.
I had an oversized bulletin board on my bedroom wall when I was growing up and it was such a joy to constantly decorate and redecorate it with photos of friends, magazine cut-outs (of N’Sync, of course), concert tickets, postcards, etc.
Based on her reaction to seeing it for the first time, I think she just might follow in my footsteps!
This was one of those projects that was so easy but so satisfying to pull together. Need more of those in my life!
